Brindley 12MW Battery Energy Storage System
10 Sep 2025The Brindley 12MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) required the design, installation and commissioning of a full Balance of Plant solution, metered at 33kV and connected to a primary substation over 1km away. Pascon delivered a containerised substation solution, including dual substations, switchgear and 110V battery chargers, alongside the excavation and installation of 1,250 metres of fibre cable to link the new system with the existing primary substation at Swindon. The project was completed ahead of schedule and within budget. The facility was fully energised, giving SSE access to a reliable 12MW battery storage resource.
